Reminds me of the old Matchbox kits with the different coloured parts.

Not quite the same thing.

Short term it might be a bit of both, but long term, unless vast new oil reserves are discovered and the climate issue goes away, costs will drive prices inevitably upwards.

That Ferret reminds me of a armour penetration table..the colours denote armour thicknesses...red being  the thickest armour and the lighter the colour the thinner.

I think it's about time that Airfix gave us some more prototypes. They've done the P1127 and the SR53, maybe others I can't recall at the moment, but what about Hurricane and Spitfire? I know that there are aftermarket sets for K5054, not sure about K5083. Hunter would also be nice, maybe you folks can think of others.

The TSR2 almost counts as they made the only one that flew, XR219, and the Rotodyne counts as well, there being only one.

But the P1127 and SR53 were done waaaaay back and they're not thinking that way now sadly.

A lot of their kits back then were of the prototype of a type - the Blackburn NA39/Buccaneer for instance-rather then a production example simply so they could say "we bring it you first" . Different days
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

They're Viggen was the prototype.  I was pretty gutted to learn that when I bought it as a kid, I really wanted to do the fields and meadows scheme.  Probably a blessing, got out of all that masking!

I don't think you'll see Airfix do prototypes these days (I guess TSR.2 was a special case) but I'd certainly like to see some of the high end short run guys churn some out.  Plenty of pre-war prototypes that haven't been covered, post war experimental have a bit.  I'd like to see an EAP.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Once the shape gets nailed down a bit more I'd love to see a Tempest (the new one).
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Oh yes, I have one of those, an original Pegasus one, and I've been wondering how to Whiff it.

Just putting RAF Sqdn markings on it and hanging some Skyflashes underneath seem a bit obvious though.

French markings, with an ASMP and a few Magics? What if the French had stayed as part of the Eurofighter consortium.

Perhaps Airfix could release K5083 and K5054 kits as Club exclusives. I know I'd spring for them in 1/48 (I've not seen as many proto Hurries as I have the Blue Beauty from Eastleigh).

Given that the Germans nearly pulled out of Eurofighter, perhaps Thatch may have gone it alone?

Actually, the ***** would have just axed EFA and bought US.
