Think I need to tidy the work bench/general area up ? Might get my enthusiasm, re-enthused ? I always find this an odd time of year, but we shall move on

It is a shitty season indeed! Not winter and ages left until it's warm enough to venture outside. You would think that the lack of lust for outdoor activities would trigger a build rush, but nothing like that. Instead, the entire life is like swimming in syrup. Annoying.

But keep reading, surfing and chatting, and you'll find your mojo lurking somewhere unexpected.

Yup, I know it's there but it's getting a little bit old now as well, like me, so it can find it hard to get moving. This is also Hospital Check Up Season for me as well, 2 next week, now't serious, but they do weigh on you a bit. Nothing like some on this site so I can't complain, but just want to get them out of the way and move on.

Anyway I've done a bit of digging and discovered that the second build I had in mind for the 50's GB doesn't quite fit, which is a "B" but I'm still going to build it as it should be a relatively straightforward build. I was going to do the new tool Airfix Meteor FR.9 as a Royal Rhodesian AF example, circa 1959. Unfortunately the national markings I have for it (from one of their Hunters) are for the period 1963 to 1970 and only have a single spear/assegai in the centre of the roundel. Prior to 1963 the roundel had 3 spears/assegais as it was strictly speaking the air force of the Rhodesia's and Nyasaland.  No problem and hopefully I'll start this in a week or so. Be interesting to see how the 3D Decals from Eduard compare with those I'm using on the Xtrakit SR A/1 which are by Kits World.

You and me both, mate. I have a 2nd x-ray session coming up just to make sure that cancer isn't moving faster than expected. While probably not anything to worry about, it's still a slightly unnerving feeling not having that case closed for the coming year. Not good for mojo.

Best of luck to you sir

Old school mate of mine has just started a radiography course and that sounds a bit daunting to put it mildly. So as I said mine's really nothing serious, touching all the wood going

Yesterday was a hospital day, retina scan, so eye drops and thus no modelling. Well done to the NHS though as everything was absolutely on time

Won't be much modelling, if any, over the next couple of days as I have my Site Moderator and UK SIG Newsletter heads on.

Cheers Dave. The lad (can you tell I'm getting old ?  ;D ) who took the photos said there was nothing obvious, but the specialists will look at them to confirm - hopefully.

I've told you before, Chris, you are NOT getting old, you are maturing...........just like a high class Burgundy!!   And I also am delighted to hear all seems to be well.

You look just as spritely & youthful as ever, from here, Chris! ;D

Glad to hear things went well, hope they continue to do so!

Good day at the London Model Show yesterday with Dave & Nick   As Dave has said it was a curious affair and was certainly centred more around Toy/Model Soldiers than plastic models. Browsing the soldier stands was certainly fascinating though and some of the prices were mind boggling  :o  It was also difficult for a non aficionado to understand some of the price differentials, but I suppose they felt the same browsing through the plastic kits on stands and under tables ? I used to wargame but had no real knowledge of the Toy Soldier Hobby and it was eye opening to say the least and that was before you came to the seller with his Cleopatra's Court scene. I've still no idea where that snake was going  ;)

Managed to get a couple of kits and some modelling "essentials" and then just to show what happens when London Transport works I managed to get home  in an hour door to door
