Round 2 of the 2023/2024 Group Build Poll Pick Up To Five. Top 3 will become the 23/24 season choices.

Central and S America. a broad subject.
It'll never Work/What were they smoking GB - Stupid and/or ugly and/or weird.  the stupider the idea the better.  Extra points for ridiculousness or building anything from Blackburn or Reliant.
Buccaneer, Harrier, Jaguar GB - the obvious successor to Lightning, Hunter, Canberra.

Round Two of the 2023/2024 GB Subject Poll - pick up to 5.

Basically, I used 9 votes as the cut-off point. Nothing scientific about that, I just felt it gave a nice, varied choice which reflects as many of the member's interests as possible.

As suggested by the members I've merged a couple of categories which were so similar that I should have done so when I set the first round up.

These were the Swords into Ploughshares/Civilianise it : Militarise it and the various categories concerning engines. My thanks to a couple of people for helping me with this.

The site didn't allow me to post a full explanation of the Re-engine it GB, so here it is :- Models with visibly other engines than the originals. This can include alternative forms of propulsion or engine.  Sail to steam, horseless carriage to motorized, piston to turboprop or jet, Internal combustion to electric etc. Or re-engine your land vehicle with an aircraft engine, aircraft with car or motorbike engines,  boats with aircraft engines, etc. Or maybe double/halve the number of engines on your plane, or in your vehicle or boat. (and maybe the Moderators could muse on adding a rule for the double/halve option of maintaining the original subjects overall power rating ? But that's down to them if it's chosen)

I've also consolidated the various Space and Sci-Fi subjects into two categories : Space and Sci-Fi.

Now I've given you 5 votes, although you don't have to use them all. The 3 categories with the most votes will be the subjects for the 2023/2024 GB season.

I'll leave it open until the morning of Tuesday 11th April (UK Time) so hopefully given the Easter break this will allow as many members as possible to take part.

Thank you for your patience.

Chris

Voted.  Thanks Chris.

I'm hoping to get back to doing some modelling this year, starting with the 1 week GB. There are some good options for me on this list for 2023/24. <_<

And now I can see the votes.   ;D

H says he's voted and I assume Chris did as well.  I'm not surprised about the one choice we all made.

You can close the poll now Chris.  I'd be quite happy with the top 3.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

No Top 3 now, it's all very even ... again! ;D

Fred, I wouldn't bank on Chris having voted, yet. He said, somewhere, that he usually waits a while after putting the poll up so no-one can work out what he voted for. Smart man! ;)

Crikey!  Votes have doubled since I was last here, 20 minutes ago, & there's now FOUR in the equal lead ... But we all know how quickly that can change.

Thank you Chris.

Voted- and I can definitely live with most of those that made the second round cut and definitely the top vote getters so far.

I know it is a hassle for you Chris to make two rounds, but definitely need to weed out those nominations that would not have broad appeal (or should have never been nominated).  Your work is appreciated!!

I only used four votes as that was all I was happy subject wise. At the moment only one of those looks like makeing it all the way, but then that leaves the others free for the following year I suppose. I will have to make a list so I know what to recommend this time next year.

I managed 3 votes and to be honest even those weren't what I was hoping for as everyone which really had me interested are gone .
So depending on what wins the vote will depend on my arse doing anything at all .

Normally, I don't partake in Group Builds. Here or anywhere else. Simply because the build time is too short.
But............if a Group Build I see in the poll finally makes it in the top 3, I "might" enter something.
We'll see. ;)
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.
