XD972?

That's a Swift FR5, one of the schemes in the Airfix kit IIRC.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

What would this picture look like if the artist added the Phantom, Buccaneer and Sea Harrier? Not FAA perhaps but could be interesting. No use adding the F-35, it just wouldn't show up on the paper.

This should be the album for model pictures, the rest involves a larger amount of related Lego pictures. For people who are not into Flickr (just like me) look for the "back to albums" at the top of the page to see all the folders .

Some nice scenes there.

I reckon someone in  the ship yard got the plans mixed up when he was copying them  ;)

Amazing build.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Does anyone want to explain What If to these people?
Not even gonna try, because they still won't get it.

I'm wondering if Nob_ody is Uncle Les here because I'm sure he designed & built those models.

If they don't know what What If is then sadly it's very likely they never will.
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .

I don't see any comments in that Reddit thread that suggest that the folks commenting don't understand the concept of "What-Ifs". Some snark and facetious concepts, par for the course on the web with the predictable references to "Wish" and the "We have (blank) at home" meme, but nothing disparaging about the model or the builder. They're more in the line of "that's weird", and it is an odd design.
