Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Quote from: Wardukw-NZ on April 13, 2023, 12:33:30 PMWoah that's not cool ..ya need the big putty it sounds like a canyon not a gap 🤔

It's not so much a gap as the wing root joint leaves you with the wing being "higher" than the fuselage. Almost certainly my fault so I can't complain to much, but I need to blend them in to get a smooth transition.

We shall persevere and we will get there though  ;D
I've done that before    ..so I just cut it off and remount it ..that was a bloody long time ago now..could be im building better models or just better quality models but ill bet it will happen again   ;D

The position and shape of the jet exhausts make that a near impossible task to pull off, for me anyway. However I'll get back to it next week as I've a busy weekend.

One good thing is that the Meteor is putting me in a good mood when I turn to this, therefore I make progress whereas normally I'd walk away from it  ;D

That's annoying that is Chris..bad design I think when they built that plane 😂

I got my Airfix MK24 Spitfire last week and I was going to build a wiff out of it ..I was building a Revell 32nd scale MK24 and that kit is total crap..but the wiff I was building from was looking brilliant...its got wasted in "The Incident" and I've been wanting to build it again but in 48th.
When I looked at this Airfix kit ..mate it's beautiful and there's no way I can destroy it to build a wiff from it ..so I'm gonna use my Hobbyboss Seafang instead  ;D

Right, whilst sitting in my local branch of Nero's (a UK coffee house chain) with my large cappuccino and croissant yesterday morning I came to a decision which will probably affect my future modelling considerably, providing I stick to it of course

Basically I've decided to go with a "good enough for government work" approach and not try to model to the same standard that I could even 3 years or so ago, less again what I see on site on a daily basis. The combination of my hand/eye problems means I can't, and I just get more and more frustrated in trying to.  This will mainly affect psr work, but might impinge on others, we will see (or not as the case may be  ).

This should mean that I can get most of my models to a reasonable standard and then move on with them, thus increasing my enjoyment of the build, after all that's why we model isn't it ?

Anyway after that waffle and as a result of that decision the SR is now fully primed and painting can commence over the weekend, hopefully, although I have other things on as well. I know the scheme she'll be in and I just need to decide where I put the demarcation line between upper and lower colours. I'll probably not go with the FAA's high demarcation and am not sure at all about the tailfin and rudder, but that can decided when it comes to it.

A very, very wise decision indeed! Good on you, Sir!

Looking forward to more fun builds, accordingly.  ;)
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

SRA-1 has a great look, one of the coolest 50s planes for me (must save up for one  ;D )  Can't wait to see your build (in due cause of cause)

The Xtrakit price is not bad when you consider you get masks included etc.

In all honesty this is not my sort of model ..I wouldn't buy one but that don't change the fact seeing one built is still bloody cool 😀
I do like different after all 🙃

Yes really good value, never had a pre-cut canopy mask, this kit has gone to the top of my list

This sounds an  eminently sensible  course of action.  As long as you are enjoying modelling, you are doing the right thing!

Yep, enjoyment is essential.  Maybe a couple of Hobbyboss Quick Builds are what you need (some decidedly better than others, but that's true of every brand)?  Or similar from Revell/Airfix.  Simple builds that can be enhanced as you see fit.
