It would be great to have the BAe Nimrod,  Breguet Atlantic and the Lockheed Orion in my collection.
I think Germany is the only country to have flown the Atlantic and Orion for maritime patrol operations so the Nimrod would be a good whiff.

The Breguet Atlantic will feature as part of my Independent Scottish Republic Air Force plan! . I also intend to produce its replacement using the Zvezda Airbus A-321 as the base kit.

Last two builds for a while will probably be a Trans-Atlantic Schneider Trophy entry (1948?)  Arado Ar. E555 floatplane & another Meteor X-Wing but in the nose-tail swap configuration, unless I get hit by a bus, in which case I think I'll build angel X-Wings. ..although I have already built an Angel Interceptor X-Wing 

Why couldn't Revell have included the top half of the Breguet Atlantic's wing into the fuselage as it would much easier to build rather than the butt joint?

Today we went into new membership at the local scale modelling club (  VdPM Hannover ) .
Me and my wife will show all my models at the club exhibition later this year .
There are NOT many whatifs in the group I think

I've got the remains of a 1/144 Lockheed C-5 Galaxy and the idea based around the Bell V-44 concept using parts from two 1/72 Boeing V-22 Osprey kits.
My 1/72 Convair EB-61 Peacehaven AEW.1 isn't that too far away from one or two of the designs penned by Boeing during the 1950s.

My plan so far is to finish the mustangs I started 30 odd years ago. I also have a 1/48th Pucara I started God only knows how long ago. I built it completely from scratch with a couple stolen parts like props and wheels. Carved wooden molds and vacuformed the pieces. The plastic I used for the canopy has yellowed over the years. I included LEDs for position lights but I've forgotten what voltage it all ran at. If I had painted it back when I made it it would be weathered by time like the one at the Duxford museum.

This will depend on how many 1/72 B-29 and B-47 kits that I buy using the Scott Lowther book Origins and Evolution: B-47 & B-52 as a reference. As for the B-52 and B-36 they will be the 1/144 scale which might be easier for whiff.

I see that Metcalfe does a 00 gauge Castle kit made up of several pieces. From the photos of the assembled kits it looks a very good kit to get along with other building kits in the range.

It looks to me as if the 00 gauge Dapol Kitmaster Park Royal Railbus has many whiffery variations. It can be motorised or swapped for the motor chassis from the Lima Ho Class 33 locomotive. The floor is omitted and the lugs on the inside will need filing down.
There's no interior seating and some of the kits don't include glazing or any decals. As there seems to be a lack of carriage model kits and prices on the secondhand market starting to rise a coach conversion is a likely start.
The Railbus was used coupled together but not as a multiple unit, a DMU springs to mind.

I haven't given up on building a 1/72 KC-121 refuelling tanker nor a maritime patrol version of the Lockheed Constellation using the wings and weapons bays from the Boeing B-29. I haven't got the room for it until I put up permanent shelves in my hobby room. I think a 3D printer and a scanner will improve my level of creativity.

Having used the 1/72 Lockheed F-35B on two of my builds I intend to create a casting so I can use it on fighter aircraft such as the F-16 and F-15. In the RW there was a concept line drawing of the F-16 V/STOL This might work on the Harrier GR.9 although the rear end will look very different.
The return of a few maritime surveillance aircraft, the Dassault Atlantic. This seems reasonably priced so a four engined version is still doable as the price for the Lockheed P-3 Orion has rocketed, the same can be said for the Airfix BAe Nimrod. I wonder if the Alleycat improvement set would fit the Mach2 de Havilland comet or a vacform kit might be an alternative overlaid.

I don't doubt there are good practical reasons which, is presumably why we don't see wing halves moulded into fuselages very often. I agree the wing to fuselage joint is tricky but, a few minutes work bevelling the wings where they fit into the fuselage works wonders. It's certainly a very good model and, one I was delighted to see reissued. Price of £34.99 was very good value for money. There is a lot of model in the box.
