I would have extended the centre fuselage, so that the engines were all on the same vertical plane, because I'd hate to think of the heat effect of the centre-line engines on the outer engines in this set-up! :o  :o  :o

Good point  , I did think about that but I'm not really up to scratch building the extension & couldn't really buy another kit, (and I ran out of time), so I settled for integrated extra heat shielding ;D ...in this case the perfect was the enemy of the good

.....Many thanks for kind comments all

Good choice!

But, given there are 6 Avon 301's to look after, a flight engineer might be a more realistic option. ;)

Listen, I'll have you know that if a fully qualified and licenced British Standard Tea Lady can get around all the offices with a trolley with a wonky wheel before the PG Tips goes cold, then she'll have little trouble wrangling a dozen recalcitrant jet engines into line in no time at all.

And by the way, that's TWELVE Avon 301s...

We had one of those in the office, before they switched to those horrible machines, and she was well in her 70's before she retired.  She could also talk about all the latest football gossip with the lads whilst dishing tea out as well  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

But now you have 3 sets of Lightning wings to use somewhere.... ;)
