Couple more What If admin etc things to get done over the next day or so and then hopefully I can return to the bench.

Getting on with the Saro (PSR phase 1) is the initial objective, but I also want to make a start on my second 50's GB build. This will involve a far easier kit, I hope  , the Airfix Club Special Meteor FR.9 and some of Mr Spackman's wonderful transfers

I printed them y'day actually, and they look pretty good. Varnish today should be in the post tomorrow.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

No progress over the weekend as it's been more an out and about weekend. Hopefully make some progress this week on my GB entries and have vowed not to be distracted by new projects, but how many times have I said that before ?  ;D

Saw a Commonwealth War Graves Commission van in Crystal Palace this morning when I was out. Not the sort of thing you expect to see, although with the number of cemeteries around here * there could be some with War Graves they look after I suppose.

* This part of S London was Necropolis Central in Victorian times. A fair few built and a couple even had their own railway lines/stations. Explains why some station's platforms are still a little unusual. Not to be left out North London had some as well. ;)

Also found out something I wasn't aware of this morning. They've closed Westminster Abbey to tart it up for the Coronation and they showed the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior. I knew you weren't allowed to walk on it, but wasn't aware that no one is and even Charlie will have to make a detour around it

I live almost next door to a cemetery and every grave of someone who served has a small plaque stating that it is an offence to interfere with the grave without the authority of the war graves people followed by a phone number.
Maybe they do similar there.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Could well be, I've never really looked. I've been to the National Arboretum and a fair few CWGC cemeteries in France, Belgium and a couple of  other places, but never noticed any in UK cemeteries. Must admit although it sounds a little morbid they can be fascinating places.

I walk the dog round the cemetery every day.  I find the inscriptions fascinating as well as the names.  A lot of the names are reflected in local street names.
I should make a note of some names for backstories.

Many years ago me and the then Mrs Edwards used to walk our dog through Mitcham Road cemetery in Thornton Heath then across the common to one of the Mitcham pubs for a Sunday pint. Our dog was quite a rumbustious thing, but whilst in the cemetery she was always remarkably well behaved.

Small cemetery about a mile from us is the last resting place of Thomas Hardy and Joan Collins.

I live about a freedom kilometer (1 mile) from the Westwood Village Memorial Park. Many famous people (mostly actors, like Marilyn Monroe) are buried there.

;D  ;D  I very much still work in Imperial. It was what I was taught at school and it stuck  ;D We have an odd, to anyone not British  , mix of Imperial and Metric in use nowadays.
