Hmmm, someone did a resin conversion kit for a Mk II, maybe DB? It's the sort of thing they would do.

Otherwise perhaps it's time for a word with Colin?  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Magna did a conversion for the old Airfix, Alleycat do one for the new and Highplanes do a complete kit.  All are strewn with issues.

Given their prices, plus the base kit itself, probably cheaper to buy the High Planes.

I did consider a Griffon one, but the donor cowls were a tad too deep. Then the Alleycat conversion I was landing on using was used to do a still unfinished real 618 Sqn aircraft.

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I'm with you there Dave, much more elegant than a Mossie for sure, and sleeker than any Spitfire variant to my mind.

I built this by gluing Revell Lanc engines and nacelles onto an old mould Airfix Beaufighter.  Simples.
It's not meant to be a Mk II, just a Beau with Merlins.

You could get two Matchbox Tempests, which comes with separate Sabres, and you still have Mk. II with a Centaurus left over...  :rolleyes:
I already considered mounting Griffon engine pods (with integrated coolers) from a Shackleton (or similar Merlins from a Lincoln), with simple 4-blade props, though.

I've got 3 Sabres from my 3 KP Tempest II's which come with both options.

First find your M'box Tempests. I've not seen one for ages.

Mind you, we're up to our neck in Airfix, KP and SH Tempests recently!  :o

I don't believe this conversation.......... I have just acquired 2 Matchbox Tempests to re-engine an Airfix Beaufighter. The original plan was for Centauruses but this morning I thought why not the Sabres? So much for originality! 🤪
