On the train home yesterday I was musing on what a Beaufighter Mk II converted to have a pair of Sabres from the KP tempest would look like ? Mind you does anyone do a 1/72 Mk II ?

You could get two Matchbox Tempests, which comes with separate Sabres, and you still have Mk. II with a Centaurus left over...
I already considered mounting Griffon engine pods (with integrated coolers) from a Shackleton (or similar Merlins from a Lincoln), with simple 4-blade props, though.

I don't believe this conversation.......... I have just acquired 2 Matchbox Tempests to re-engine an Airfix Beaufighter. The original plan was for Centauruses but this morning I thought why not the Sabres? So much for originality! 🤪
Doug mate ..trust me originality is getting harder and harder on here  :o
Next will be a Beaufighter with turbines and contraprops on it .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Yeah, two Pythons, that should really shift it along a bit.  ;D  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

And there's nothing wrong with doing something that someone else has already done.
1. It's not in *your* collection/model shelf, and
2. The hard stuff has already been done, so you know where the pitfalls are...  ;)

-That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it...

The Wooksta!

I have a blanket rule that if something has been done, I don't do it. Although if I think it's not quite right or has been done badly (ie not to my standards), I'll do it anyway.

Tell me about it!
I'm not letting what the companion Beaufort is to look like ;)

Trent, Tyne or Dart would me more suitable. Python is way too big for a Beau.

I've yet to mould the Tyne I have sitting there, but I've several Matchbox Beaufighters to apply them to.

To be fair, there are times where two whiffed can have the same idea separately.
