Well, there she is, my Hispano Ha-1112 K.1.L. from the German movie, "The Star of Africa". Originally, an M.1.L., (Spanish Aif Force) with it's new Hispano V12 mounted. As said before, I modified the engine cowling from a P-51A which was the closest to the Hispano in profile.
The fuel truck, although the wrong colour, (not forgeting that the movie was in B&W) is 1/48 and the VW is 1/76 but gives the appearance of being a bit further away.
The VW was my very first scratch build model, and I've still got her.

great model, but a fantastic pic !  Very, very nice scheme.  Not usually a fan of the 109 family, but that is really good.

That VW looks very good. Can you show some more photos? How did you make it?

Really impressed! In black & white I reckon you'd fool 99% of the general public!

Lovely....I've some spanish '109s to do as '109Ms in Luftwaffe colours, just mo make the JMNs think a bit.
Lovely jobby :D
Once you've visited the land of the Loonies, a return is never far away.....

Nose on view.
The VW was made from Belolla prints. I have the company name wrong, but they made 1/76sc four views of armour in the 1960's. I don't know if you can still buy them, but they were great. I'm using the plans of the T28/95 at the moment upscaled to 1/35,
Made the chassis/sides/engine cover/bonnet from card, then built the cockpit/seats/steering wheel and glued together. I had scored the doors to the sides, and then added thin strips to the sides to look like the pressed metal shape.
Windscreen was clear acrylic and I think the wheels, a couple of Airfix 6 pounders.
Painted in DAK sand, tyres black, finished..........................then Airfix, and every other company made one!
