Gary

QuoteEngine commonality with the Canadair Argus would be a good explanation.
Ahhh, great minds again, eh?
Getting back into modeling

Gary I thought that was a real story until I got to the Corsair part :D! Seriously great story!! Now if only I had the skillz to mod the plane in accordance with those great descriptions!

On the model side, I found a 1/32 Mustang hub and props which look pretty cool on the machine. I'll post mock ups when I get home. At this point I'm thinking of pose it in-flight in a near vertical climb (she just looks fast)...

GTX I was toying with the idea of a Canadian "Skyraider-a-like" from the start, a similar concept to the AU-1 and F4U-7 Corsairs which were optimised for mud moving.  Included in my growing box of Wolverene/Arviq parts are pylons from the Matchbox AD-5 Skyraider (because I only need the inner pylons for the Dead Parrot GB).

If I go with the Vietnam scenario what camo would you suggest? SEA? Or a Canadian jungle scheme? :D

ps. those massive blades and big prop look cool IMHO
Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

I'd stick with a P&W for a single seater, I don't trust those big Wright contraptions...

Ok this is the concept I've sorta settled on (more on that later)...

and

Now in all the pics you've seen the intake has been on the bottom, here's two with it on top. I can't decide on which one I like more...

From the front:

And profile:

What I have settled on is that she'll be wearing Korean war era markings (maybe even a Mig kill)...

Please let me know what you think!

Damian,

I'd keep to normal Canadian markings.  Mind you, those latest pics just scream "Reno Racer" to me  !

All hail the God of Frustration!!!

Woah Damian that one looks built for speed! It's gotta be the hottest looking Corsair to come down the pike in a long time! I really like the cowl with the intake on top and that big prop and sharp spinner! I'm looking forward to seeing more!

cthulhu77

it would sure look cool in COIN camo...that black belly and all would really make those awesome curves come out!  Superb job, great prop!

I've always thought the Corsair's nose should be longer.  Glad you've done yours this way.

As for paint-scheme?  I'd go with Wolfik's latest tank's scheme, that's just the kind of guy I am!

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Hi all!

GTX and Toad: I'm going with RCN colours and kill markings on my bird. Load out of two drop tanks and wall to wall HVARs...

Brian: Thanx for the compliments :) She does look fast...

cthulhu and JHM: I'm going to save the COIN scheme for my Hasegawa AU-1  (F4U-6) in either traditional SEA over black or possibly a rendering of the spec ops tiger stripes camo. No national insignia (for support missions into Cambodia and Laos for MACV/SOG teams) and an airfield code ala the A-1H/E. Here the load out will either be a close support mission with napalm and rockets or a Sandy mission with a gun pod, rocket pods and tear gas cannisters...

Look for these builds soon!
