We had our P-51Ds in Vietnam. I;m sure you all know this.

In tribute to the six Kiwi Cadillacs that were in-country, my Italeri P/F-51D kit will be built as NZ2429, the first to arrive at Da Nang in 1967.

The fuse, wings and tailplanes were all cemented together this morning. Man its cold.

Damned fingerless gloves. Argh.

Anyhoo, as always, progress as it happens.

Okay, the first coat of the camo is on, and the basic structure done.

In the background my Supermarine Spitfire and Shrew models can be seen, the Spitfire being my nearly-completed speed-build vacform.

Probably won't progress more on the Stang until next Thursday, but just in case, stay tuned.

Nice work!

For added accuracy, don't forget to paint the rear part of the wheel wells (wing spar) in zinc chromate primer (Humbrol 81).  ;)

Oh man looking GREAT Zacster! I just love your camo paintjobs! You're quite the artist! I can't wait to see this one finished in those wonderful Kiwi roundels!

Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Looking at that I might be tempted to do my Hasegawa P-51 in camo (when I get round to building it, that is. heh)
