TSR2 - Resin Addons

Ok now the Airfix kit has been released (and sold out) , the resin add-ons are starting to appear.

This weekend at the Scottish National at Perth we had Model Aircraft Monthly launch 2 upgrade sets.

Set 1 - Consists of the extended nose wheel gear initially installed to give improve STOL
capability. Also included are a set of 4 bomb pylons with the streamlined 1000lb bomb intended for the aircraft.

Set 2 - Has the conformal belly tank designed to fit over the bomb bay rather than in it. plus two 450 gallon streamlined droptanks each with a drop tank pylon. Also included is the bolt on on refuelling probe

These are excellent sets created by Paul Lucas (who researched and wrote the TSR2 articles as well).

Other sets are planned to coinside with the June edition to cover the nuclear strike  element of the program. Other accessories to complement the articles are also planned and will be annoiunced once news is confirmed.

Announced today on Hannants is another Pavla set, this time for the complete cockpit. This has detailed cockpit, instrument panels, the ejector seats and vacform canopies.

Heritage recently re-issued their Etched Brass detail set designed to fit their resin kit that has rather nice white metal seats with etch brass details and the crew access ladders for the sides.

TSRJoe has a number of treats lined up that will cover more of the unusual side of the TSR2 accessories, such as its unique support facilities and weapon systems not covered by MAM.

There are also rumours of other What-If decal sheets for the TSR2 under consideration.

The Pavla resin Cockpit update set is now out and very nice it is indeed.

Model Aircraft Monthly have now published part 3 of their TSR2 covering the initial operational squadrons and the weapons the could carry. Set 3 & 4 of the resin set have also been issued with the bombay insert for a pair of WE177 Nuclear Bombs and additional internal fuel tank, the other set for the Pylon launched Blue Water stand off nuclear missle and its associated pylons.

Part 4 is scheduled for the next issue.
