Macross whiffery

After a short bout with my conscience, I decided I'd had enough with looking at my painted, but undecalled, VF-0 variable fighter mecha with piggyback drone. It's been sitting there since at least the beginning of spring, and I just never felt like decalling it, so the sheet, wonder of wonders, is still unbroken. Not that this matters too much, since I'm probably only going to use it for the ten thousand stencils...

So I stripped the splotchy-looking, third-rate paint job I'd put on it back in the dark age of January, and I'm casting about for ideas on what else to do with it. Any ideas?

Try macrossworld. There is a fanart section with lots of custom paintschemes for the VF-0 or you can brainstorm with the artist there.

I have had my Macross bird done for quite some time but I have been avoiding painting it until I could come up with the right leopard spot pattern.



It is currently primed grey but thanks to Greg slipping me a copy of his Large Feline Spot pattern file I can now move forward on my build...well soon I hope.

I also have a Valkyrie that I may do in standard military colors...just not sure who's yet.

Then again, how cool would it be to paint it up as a futuristic Roman Legion bird!

Perhaps Tiger Meet colors?  Blue Angel markings?  Something FLANKER inspired?

My vote is for the Roman Legion bird. It has a very "Pax Romana" Imperialist look to it. That's one really sweet clean build there Jeff. Whatever you decide, it's gonna look killer!
