I've developed a new (well, new to ME) method of "stitching" incompatible wingspars with the fuselage, too.

Here are the initial cuts.  The Mosquito's wingroots have to be relocated to the very bottom of the reworked fighter plane fuselage.  This process worked extremely well on another project of mine currently in progress which remains Top Secret.

I'm working on those leading edge wing plugs, too.
Going to involve some kind of radiator intake holes....somehow.

Radiators drilled and shaped:

I used clear tape to trace the outline of the wing root depression on the fuselage and tranferred that to 20 thou sheet styrene from which I cut out 6 pattern pieces.

The fuselage at the top of the pic shows the initial result.

There is also a piece of strip-stock plugging the wing-tab's slot from the inside, which you can see in the lower fuselage example.

Beats the heck out of using a whole tube of putty!

It's coming along.  I like the fit of the scratchbuilt tailfin to the fuselage.

I like the look of that tailfin Mr Howling Mouse! Your "wing attachment procedure" looks very interesting too. I'm hoping to see more of this technique so I can apply it to my own projects.

Thanks for keeping us updated!

I am in a state of perpetual awe at your incredible ability to see all the permutations possible in any kit.

You are a true visionary and I want to have your children !

While I love the development of the plane, I can't quite get as enthusiastic as Ian...yikes.

Greg: ha!  Back atcha, Ian!   ;)

Work continues on this little bird but it's all putty/sand/repeat at this point and not worth posting pics of.   sighhhhhhhhhhh.

QuoteFirst mock-up: more masking tape than styrene (or putty) at this point but I like the promising shape overall.

The way you have positioned the wings it reminds me of the Fischer XP-75.

Yes, it does look similar, now that you mention it!

Hey, you can compliment ALL you want!!!  Yep, there are many kits on the go.

Too many, in fact.  But I'd rather have too much on the go at once than not enough, right?
