Quotelove it, and you've even got the whole Soviet grainy photo thing going  :D
My thoughts exactly!  Reminds me of all those early pics you see in 1960's era books on their airforce.

Beautiful model!

"Fallback" is a fantastic name.  Just the kind of thing NATO would come up with.
If you don't use it, I will!

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

QuoteI take it by the even numbered designation and weapons load that the mig-20 is primarily a bomber? Have you figured out a NATO reporting name yet?
You are right: I envisaged it as a tactical biomber to fit the even number. But I did not think about the NATO reporting name.

Good point!
I INVITE ALL OF YOU TO FIND ONE.

In my opinion, "Faceplate" is not a good choice as it was a much lighter and sleeker plane: a pure fighter. By the way, I am working in a model of this plane, from the Airfix MiG-21 and the wings of a Heller MiG-19.
Ok let's go...
Finger
Fantail
Firelock
Feaster
Feather
Fiddle
Flake

B)
Sorry, JMN moment here,

'Feather' was for the Yak-17 & I can't quite remember but i think 'Fantail' was used too???  Also 'Fiddle' would be quite similar too 'Fiddler' as in Tu-128....   Perhaps, 'Foghorn' since it's kinda big & chunky???

Regards,

Maverick

gooberliberation

Fantail is also taken by the La-15

Also, flake doesnt work, because jet "names" have two syllables, whereas props have only one.

Flakey? *scratches scalp*

COMRADES!!!!

Is GLORIOUS day to respond to such a wonderful thread by the People!

This wonderful piece of socialist engineering and ingenuity struck fear into the decadent running dog West, at least the intelligence community that was aware of it.

As for a name, I have heard that the afore-mentioned "Fishfarm" and "Fallback" were applied to it, though I think, in order to run down the Motherland's confidence through words, some called it "Fishbait."  Truly, these Western officers have no concept on what would insult us, as "Fishbait" is what is used to strengthen and nourish the Red fish, so that it may be eaten by the People to give them strength to fight the West!

What?  WHAT?!  Did someone shave my head again while I was asleep, in attempt to get me to emulate Lenin?  I tell you, comrades, sometimes, explaining the lazy West to you is like trying to pull Stalin's teeth.

ZA RODINA!!

How about "Fake"?

"Flaw"

"Faulty"

:P  :P  :P

MerlinJones

Fish Hook...more than apt, 'cos the pilot of the flaming F-4, dangling from his 'chute, will be bound to exclaim;

"What the Fish Hook was that?"

(Or I think that's what he said, given the inadequacies of radio pick-up in a combat zone!)

Very nice build, Sir.
