I was looking for a Dash-7 in 1/72 scale and this is the only place where I could find one. The price is astronomical and it's only a deck top:

The search engine on this site only goes by airline name, so you have to know where to look, but a Dash-7 can be found in US Army

I haven't looked for a Dash-5 so I don't know if they have one.

I'm surprised no one does a conversion kit to make a Dash 7 from a Dash 8.  I seem to remember that the fuselage is essentially the same.

I visited Invader Models in Calgary today and as it happens they had one of these Brazilian DHC-5's on the shelf.  Scott, who is one of the shop owners, was very kind and let me have a look at the bits.  They're not too bad but some work will be needed to produce a nice model.  All the parts appear to be there in this box and some of the detail bits reminded me of the Robert's Bits that come with the Combat Models vacuform kit.

But it was $100.00 Canadian

Thanks, Robert (funny, since the local friend who first saw this kit is also named Robert).

It is $90 Cdn up here at the Kingsway Aviation Museum.

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Excellent. Now that I see a Buffalo kit is available, I will have to get the best model shop in town to order me one.

After obtaining 1907.0 hrs total on type as an Flight Engineer, my love for the CC-115 remains strong as ever. And, I have always wanted to make models of the aircraft I have worked on as a Aero Engine technician and flew on as an Flight Engineer. One of these days I will have to get busy. Mind you, there is only 4 total so far in my career. The mighty CH-147 Chinook and the CP-140 Aurora. Both as a technician. And the lovely CC-115 Buffalo and CC-130 Hercules as an FE. I still prefer flying the Buffalo to this date.
