The photo setup is nothing special.

I mearly use some blue card on my kitchen bench top. I have halogen down lights overhead which give a nice white light.

The camera is a Olympus C-770 Ultrazoom digital camera. 2 years old now but stilll a great compact camera, and the only one of it's size that has a 10X optical zoom.

Figures, we use the same camera and my pics still look like "hammered dog turds" ( © Eddie M.) compared to yours!  

I'll try the backdrop and halogens you use.

There are settings in the camera for different light sources try that it might help.
