The Iranian war of 2009 was the first time the Commanche saw action.  Scouting out infront of the Apaches the Commanches were always the first into action and were often the first to draw hostile fire as they sort targets for the Apaches to destroy in an effort to kill Irans nuclear ambitions.

As the conflict intensified the Syrian's decided to oppose the Allied task force and sent their airforce into the fray to try and stop the ever successful Commanche / Apache hunter killer teams.

This was a mistake and soon Syrian helicopters and fast jets were falling to the stinger missiles of the Commanche Longbow.  The aircraft represented below is flown by a two squadrons (both ex F4 units, hence the mixture of unit markings) and is credited with two Syrian helicopter kills.

The model is the Revell 1/48 scale kit that is an absolute beauty to make.  The longbow sensor is made from the rear engine pod of a Matchbox 1/72 Meteor filled out with green stuff putty ^_^

Radish

Gotta say that looks 'right'. Nice restrained weathering too.
