Was in a shop in the NE England yesterday that had two Airfix TSR2s in stock - at £29.99 each!
It's not an effing  jump jet.

I've sold off a couple on eBay for nearly that much, but I didn't hold a gun to anyone's head :)

If their willing to pay the final price its their choice.

29.99 is way over the top for a model shop thou (in my view), but at the end of the day...the guy is there to make money.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Yeah, it's supply and demand - he was also asking £25 for a Fujimi Phantom F3 kit

Wow !
Last week there was a Fujimi F-4J (same kit - different decals) for seven or eight quid on eBay !

Well I guess if somebody wants to pay that sort of money, then that's up to them !

What are the rules regarding price gouging when it has an RRP of £17.99?  Just wonder what Trading Standards would make of it.

Well you are asking the right person there!

The answer is nothing! There is no restriction on selling something at anything you want - the legal requirements are that goods must be priced, and any price indication not misleading.

RRPs etc have no legal status.

If you're in the market for a TSR.2, check out Zac's TSR.2 thread in the Swap Shop. He's selling his for NZ$54.95, $34.99 U.S. or 18.54 GBP (current exchange rates courtesy of Universal Currency Converter). He's even paying the shipping costs. If I was looking for one, I'd be on this like a hawk on a June bug.

I continue to peruse ebay for my first TSR2 (SHAME on you profiteers   ).  What is getting my goat is the £5-7 p&p charges some people are asking!  Would any kit owners confirm that Airfix did not carve the kit out of solid lead?

The box is the same size as Airfix's 1/48 Jaguar box
