Hi all,
have already posted this on A.R.C. first draught a little simplistic no doubt, BUT..........

 Hi all,
         so much for facts!!
Had been told that after the departure of Mr. Bent, that Airfix (the name and moulds) had been purchased
by Corgi (die-casts) and the new management were seniors with this company, it would appear this is wrong.

Having read the posts on the possible sad end to the company, and being a believer in 'speculate to accumulate' and having read:-
QuoteHere's a thought... Instead of spending all your money buying up the kits, how much would it cost to buy the molds? Then you can sell them to a manufacturer that you know and trust to do a good job with the next set of models produced, and you own a little piece of history in the mean time.
from jenni c. A slightly different version took root.

We are all modellers, all different, but modellers none the less.
Everyone has their own ideas, everyone could contribute in their own way, instead of pushing the money through the retailers, anyone thought of a consortium/co-operative? to buy the name/moulds and market
the company and product? to pinch a phrase, "by modellers, for modellers"? (sorry I.P.M.S.)
Big undertaking, and were not talking pocket change, but the light is there as the Royal Bank of Scotland
has shown a willingness to manage/fund for two years+.

Before some start pouring cold water, just think on, instead of moaning and ringing our hands, we could do something positive.

In my jaundiced opinion (having lost a lot of money when the company I part owned went into receivership recently), the only light at the end of the tunnel is usually a train bearing down on you.
