Hi Guys;

I was wondering if anyone knew if anyone made a detail set for the X-wing. I am contemplating doing one up and was just curious as to whether or not there would be any interest or if anyone here knew of anyone that had already done one.

Is there any sci-fi modelling forums that anyone knows of?

Cheers guys,

Jay

Try the Starship modeller website the discussion board is full of very helpful people and if they can't tell you no one can.

Bear in mind that the absolute Dogs Doo-Dads, when it comes down to the Incom-65, is the Fine Molds 1/72 kit.
This has a superbly detailed cockpit and you can display it with undercariage up and down. This'll cost you about as much as you'd pay for a decent Tamigawa kit.

Others on the market include the 1/72-ish and 1/48-ish AMT/ERTL/Airfix-MPC/Revell kits. You'll discover on Starshipmodeler that there are aftermarket bits for these.

Aha, sir! I disagree! The true poo when it comes to the venerable X is Captain Cardboard's Studio Scale X-Wing. Mike Salzo's casting it these days. Of course, you're gonna shell out some serious coin, but after all it is 1/24 scale resin and white metal, and the master was based on one of the origianl studio models...

Captain Cardboard (aka Scott Alexander) is the chappie who also mastered MRC's recent Mercury capsule.

More info at the Star Wars Models page, and there you will find links to get hold of Mike to get him to cast you up one, if you dare...

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...

More into Flight Sim reskinning these days, but still what-iffing... Leading Edge 3D

Thanks for all of the input guys. I appreciate it.

I was going to do one as I am making one of the AMT kits for my 5 year old son, and thought that since I was doing one I may as well cast it up. I went and had a look at the one the guy is making over at Starship Modeller, and with respect to him, I wasn't all that inspired by it. It doesnt actually have most of the detail, so I think I will go ahead and cast a few dozen up for guys who have the AMT/ERTL jobbie and don't want to bin it.

Cheers guys,

Jay
