QuoteWhat camo is it going to painted up in?
Thanks for the compliments guys!  Anthony, as for the paint scheme, I'll be using a F-15 type paint scheme.  Not sure on what shades of gray yet though.

I had a bit of a set back the other day.  While spraying other parts, the F-4 fell on the ground, broke the front nose open and the front cockpit panels popped out.  As a result, I had to open the whole thing up again, cement all the pieces together, fill in the cracks, and sand yet again :dum:   Now, I don't mind filling in gaps and such, but I really don't like having to do it twice.  Here's a couple of pics

The fuel tanks are complete, I cut off the TERs on the pylons and added the sidewinder rails, the AIM-9s are from the Monogram F-15 kit, and the SUU-23 gunpod is from the Hasegawa set.  I'm going for a total air to air loadout with this jet.  4 AIM-9s, 4 AIM-7s, centerline gunpod, and 2 wing tanks.

Man, we should have cloned twenties. Jackson wouldn't have given a poo-poo.

HELLO!!! Where did you get those sexy planes from?  :D   Those are awesome Anthony!  Man, if only the Phil AF could afford to upgrade that much.

Funny thing about your paint selection, I was actually leaning towards a gray primer I have that looks to be somewhat similar to both light ghost gray and dark ghost gray.  And medium gray was looking to be my top choice for the darker shade of gray.  Great minds think alike, correct?

So, for the light gray, I've been considering the primer I mentioned, light ghost gray, and dark ghost gray.  For the darker gray, I've been considering medium gray, neutral gray or gunship gray.

Well, you got my vote already!

The F-15B was for the Airfix GB, while the other was one of those "Hmmm, I've got this model I have no idea what to do with...  Hey, look, Phil's Air Force decals!"

And yes, great minds do think alike.  Scary, eh?

BTW, the reason the two planes look a little different in the above pic is that even though the light grey and dark grey are both the same between the two (Dark Ghost Grey and Medium Grey, respectively), I tend to strech out the usefullness of my paints by adding some airbrush thinner when they get towards the last 1/4 of the bottle.  That tends to mellow out the colors (like on the F-15B).  Newer bottles have a greater contrast, I've found (like on the EF-111A).    I stretched out one particular bottle of medium grey out when I did the F-15B, while I had a new one for the EF-111A.

Dontcha hate it when that happens?  I did that with my A380, took me over a year before I could look at it again :(

just a little bro.  I just got back from celebrating my birthday with my gf over the weekend.  The intakes were put on, the black repainted around the cockpit, and parts of the exhaust were painted.  Hope to have some pics later today.

the black around the cockpit repainted, intakes attached, cracks filled in and smoothed.  I hope to have the canopies on soon, and the exhaust painted with Alclad.

I haven't work on it much since I last posted, but I just wanted to post a picture to show that this build was still alive

added just a couple of parts, the gear wells are masked, and the canopy frames have been painted.  The front canopy piece has a small problem that needs to be fixed, then I'll paint the center piece of that, and then dip it in future.  Once I paint that, the project will be back on track.  After that, I'll mask the rest of the needed areas and paint the exhaust.
