In my own little quirky world the MB 5 entered RAF service as the Valiant Mk I in late 1944 and served mainly in Western Europe on Bomber escort missions.

This is the aircraft flown by Flt/Lt Doley of 19 Squadron on such missions in 1945

This is the excellent Planet Kit which I managed to make a complete cock-up of

Markings are straight from the "Kits at War" Doolybird option with the exception of the fact I couldn't be a**** with the nose checks yes it had become one of those kits by then !

Nothinh wrong with the kit at all - it's excellent - we just didn't get on  :(

Any mistakes you made on this one aren't apparent to my eye. She looks great! I really like how you matched up the blue stripes on the nose and the blue on the spinner with the color of the codes. Nice work!

Contrarotating props make this one a big winner in my book!  I recently discovered the joys (and cool looks) of contrarotating props, and I must build more!

Very nice!

Excellent fit - very little flash and I don't think I found an air bubble on her. It was just me  :(

As I said earlier Chris, she's a beauty. Stunning build. I remember Matchbox's Mustang Mk4 that had exactly the same markings, right down to the blue on the nose.

very nice Chris, we had Ft Lt Dooley's daughter in our shop a couple of years ago asking for books featuring him, & by chance, Corgi had just brought out a diecast of his P-51 & she bought a job lot...
