QuoteAnd I just really like the Heater-Ferris paint schemes...
You ain't alone there

You get the idea for the Viggen from my bench last week?   B)

Great jobs, Jeremy!  You know Selfridge was going to get the Super Corsair if they went into production.  I always thought that thing looked like a Crusader's butt end glued onto a Corsair's front.

Can't stop myself here, but the Michigan Maniac needs to correct you on the A-7F's unit:  It's part of the 107th FS, with is part of the 127th FW (that is if you want it to be part of the Red Devils).

Yeah, I'm sick in the head when it comes to units from Michigan, but they've got some great markings!   :dum:

That's lovely!  Only it isn't from the 127th Fighter Squadron, or at least not from the 127th Fighter Squadron of the Michigan ANG... the Michigan ANG doesn't have a 127th Fighter Squadron.  They have a 107th Fighter Squadron, attached to a 127th Fighter Wing :)

The history of the 107th goes waaaaay back yonder.  The 127th is a much more recent incarnation by comparison.

Great profiles!

Gray is good ... gray is great ... nice work on both!

AeroplaneDriver

QuoteCool, but they're, um, grey.
I dont see anything wrong with gray.  It's a great color for a warplane.  To me the problem for an imaginitive modeller is the monotony of gray F-16s, 18s, etc.

A few months ago FSM had a series of camouflage profiles on, of all things, the F-16!  Every profile in one part of the series had the exact same scheme.  All the article did was point out differences in the color of the ejection/rescue placards, s/n and so on.  What a waste of creative space!

Anyway, my point is that while gray F-16 are about as dull as it gets, gray looks great when it's on something that we're not used to seeing that way.

For example, I think a MI-ANG A7-F and USMC Viggen would both look superb in gray!!  :D
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

I agree with Ap.D on this,

Things like lo-viz F-8s and P-51s are cool because you don't see them in grey...
Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Agree with ya, D2!  I do greys, but I do interesting greys, not jus the standard Compass Ghost, Tactical, or Hill Grey schemes.  Ferris schemes, no matter the aircraft, just make it that much cooler!

But then again, there's nothing wrong with sticking low-vis on a plane that's always been hi-vis...
