New thread to specifically ask about kits that one is interested in, to see if anyone here has bought it and/or built it.

Nobody's modelling opinion means more to me than a fellow Whiffer.

So, my kit in question to start things off:

1:32 Beaufighter Revell-AG
Is this a reboxing of, say, an old Matchbox kit?  Any good?  Potential subject to What If...

I don't have one, the reveiws I've read about it do cast it in a good light. It's an original Revell offering and not a reworked Matchbox jobbie. Hope this helps.

I made that kit back in the mid 70's. Very good as I recall. There was also a feature in Airfix Magazine around that time which looked at basic improvements to the kit such as using a press fastener to make the rear seat swivel!

That kit (Revell USA, when they were in Venice, California) long predates Matchbox plastic kits.  I believe it was frist issued around 1969-70(ish).

I know what u can do to it! I know what u can do to it!

UAV!

Cockpit on top!

Scale-o-rama and make it into nible little fighter with canopy on top, or big heavy bomber!

Or SINGLE engined fighter!

Night fighter with german radar!

Sea Beufighter! Would look cool in USN hellcat colours...

T-tail torpedobomber with spats for the canadian air force!!!

It's a very good kit for it's time.    Lodela (Revell Mexico) do a version with vacuformed canopy, tailplanes, torpedo, and some brass photoetch as well for a different version.    IIRC, J. Rutman has a cockpit, corncob exhausts, and wheels or better.   I *think* it was J. Rutman but am not sure.

From a whiffery point of view, it may be less costly and much more room saving to do 1/72 or 1/48 unless the kit is purchased already.   Luckymodel have fantastic prices (not a promo....just an occasional customer) and quick shipping times from Hong Kong.

But.....
A Korean War USMC Beaufighter in one thirty-tooth would look absolutely fab! (Nod to Jennings)

Me & Shas sr. did that kit up about 7 yrs ago... dam its been a loong time, anyway I dont remember anything horribly wrong with it, but then again I didnt do most of the construction.

I wish I'd gotted the offering w/t Torp in it, as mine is as plain as wonderbread.
