One of my local shops had lots of the Hobbycraft 1/48 Sea Fury FB.11 kits for just £4.99, reduced from £14.99.
It's not a subject or scale I like but should I grab some for you guys?

They also had some Games Workshop paints for £1 each which sounds good but they've probably been there for years judging by the dust.
Do you think these will be OK after that time?

I still paint with some GW acrylics that I bought and opened in 94 - so they should be ok sealed.

Rule #2 You can never have too many Seafuries.

Rule #1 is : You can never have too many Spitfires.

Well I've bought 12 in the past two weeks is that enough?

And all of a sudden the Airfix Vc/Seafire III is rarer than hens teeth and I need two more.

Oh yeah the SeaFury for $4.99 is a good deal especially if has the Cuban markings.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

You have to define "very good."  Is that as opposed to "outstanding" or "excellent" or "piss poor"?  It's an okay kit.  The basic outline is fairly close, but it's totally lacking in detail, and the Matchbox trench digger was hired to do the panel lines.  The prop is anemic, it has no wheel well, no cockpit to speak of, and (at least on mine, I understand others were different) a "clear" canopy that looks like it's made from an old Coke bottle (remember when those were actual glass?).

It looks like a Sea Fury if you squint your eyes, and with a LOT of work it can be made into a stunner, but it's not a shake the box kit by any means.

I keep (patiently) waiting for someone to do a real 1/48 Sea Fury kit.  I'm happy to have helped out in a small way with Paul Fisher's 1/32 masterpiece, but I'd sure love one in 1/48.

OK folks, who wants one of these 1/48 Sea Fury's at £5 each?

I can post them for £2 each or you can claim them from me at a show.

Speak now or forever shut your gob!
