Well, shucks, I appreciate all the kind words and compliments from everyone!

The painting was really holding me up, since I wanted to try a different techniques than the stencil-type I did for my A-10W.  Finally I just shrugged and went for it.

I masked off the top of the engines and airframe using masking tape and liquid masking to protect the grey undersides, then I shot MM acrylic Gulf War Armor Sand (I think) as the base color.  Let it dry for a couple days and then I went to work with the masking  tape and a fresh #11 blade; making lots of little squares and rectangles and trying to avoid repetitive shapes and placement cover what I wanted to keep.  Then it was just lather, rinse and repeat for the following colors, all Tamiya - dark yellow, flat earth and red-brown.  Those were what I had on hand that best matched my MARPAT hanging in the closet.  By the time I was done, there were spots on the kit that had 4 or 5 layers of tape on it.  I had no idea what the end pattern was going to look like until I peeled it all off.  I have to admit, it turned out pretty darn good.

Next I need to clean up the canopy and add some last fiddly bits and the weapons racks, make up some USMC squadron markings and give it a final dull coat.

The wheels are small, aren't they?  They're the 1/72 Osprey's, I didn't have enough from the OV-10 to make all three dual-wheel configured like I wanted.  Besides, amphib decks aren't that big to have to wheel it too far.

AV-1 "Hellhound" perhaps?
The Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah, the Men's department.

Oh WOW. That's just plain crazy. I'd have never thought of two kits meshing aestetically as well as these do. And if I may throw my 2 cents in the hat, I'd name it something insectoid, like "Mantis", or "Dragonfly" if it weren't already taken. It just looks like a bug to me. Great job, and PLEASE be sure to post the finished pics.

Wow great minds think alike! That's exactly how I did my FV-9 fighter!

I congratulate you on an awesome plane sir!

SALUT!
Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Ginge!

I love it! Great concept, wonderful execution. Cammo reminds me of CADPAT AR, really really nice work!

That's really an incredible model! I can imagine it flying along V-22, cleaning the landing zone for the Ospreys...  :o
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Totally kick azz.... mayhaps you could call it a 'Wolfhound'... or better still a 'Bulldog' that'd be straight out of Parris Island (a USMC Mascot)
