The Rules

(plagarised from last years rules)

The Concept: You send someone a random kit from your stash. In return you recieve a random kit from someone elses stash. You then build this kit (what if? of course  ).

In order to cut down on postage, people have been grouped together geographically ie Britain, USA, Canada.

I today have made the draw for who sends a kit to who (Oct 31st), which gives us all nearly 2 months to get the kits out, allowing for the vagaries of our respective postal systems.

If you wish to join this GB, let me know.  We had some late entrants last year who we were able to accomodate, either with each other, or with other entrants who (heaven forbid!) are able to finish multiple kits!!  Greg is welcome to come back and enter anytime.

What kind of kit to send? Any subject, any scale. We are working on a kind of honour system here, so sending someone an Airfix Mig-15 or anything by SMER would be bad form. As a rule of thumb, a kit of value £10 or $20, plus or minus 50%. Of course, thanks to the likes of Revell, high quality kits are available for less than that. Use your judgement is the best advice I can give here.

Start date: December 25th 2006(hey, its Secret Santa, right?)

End date: June 25th 2007

Prizes: The winner will be chosen by the community and may receive a prize.  Last years winner gracefully side-stepped his prize.

Last years SSGB can be found here.  Be sure to change the "show posts from" filter at the bottom to "the beginning"

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Yes, it was a Leigh Group Build.  You skillfully deflected all attempts at one.  I was saving my Pink Elephant for it, but in the end I did it for the 1WGB

Is it possible to send a partially-started/aborted build? Or would it be better just to send something brand-spanking? I have a dinky little subject in mind for Stu but I don't want to cop some flak.

nev

Depends how partially started.  If it was me, I would accept components cut off sprues, but once you get to the glueing/painting stage then I would feel a bit  <_<

But everyone is different.  Some folks may like that kind of stuff.  Best check first.

Was there any rule about how much altering can be done to a kit? How much can be added or anything? I simply put the question out cause I have no imagination right now and thinking hurts far too fricken much. (ie: plopping a radial on the front of a P-51 or similar outlandish ideas) (For God sakes , don't send me a Stang!)

Nope, you can just slap some new decals on it, or you can do a baz-tacular kitbash.  Up to you :)
