I think that one's for die hard religious types...

I thought the Ark kit would be an interesting model kit.  Until I saw the $99.95 price tag, a real turn off and far too much for a 1/350th scale model as far as I am concerned!

Odd, Galaxy Hobby in Lynnwood has had the kit for months (IIRC late last year or early this year at least) at a price of $79.95.

The stack of kits has not appeared to diminish much over that period , the current Minicraft folks are on drugs when it comes
to their pricing policies, vis. the 1/144 C-130 at over 30 bucks.

Hi Jon,

I found the kit sitting on the shelf at a small wanna-be hobby shop/toy store in Poulsbo, WA and the price would have been the full meal deal instead of a reasonably discounted such as what you would find at Emil's place in Skyway.

Even the $79.95 price is a bit much for what you get in the box which includes no animals, Noah, or his family.  It is a traditional boat hull shape with a lot of supposed internal details to represent the decks and containment areas for the animals.  For the price they are charging, they should have included a couple of the larger animal species that could be seen in 1/350th scale to give you an appreciation of size and scale to the model.  :(

It says on Minicraft's site that it includes six pairs of animals plus figures.....

I must have missed that in the fine print description on the box.  Did not see anything about animals or humanoid shapes being included in the kit.  No supporting visual documentation to back it up on the box art or kit images.

Bottom line: Too Expensive, no real value for the money spent and far too small to be of any real interest to me as built out of the box.

Don't know if these are production box art or pre-production mock-ups:

It's already being discounted: while looking for those, I found it on sale at $63 from a place in Sacramento.

...i just picked up a couple of the Corgi 'Golden Compass' airship's at my local pound store, a quid!..def good value for sure... they would certainly look neat sitting upon the 'ark' as an anacronistic airship carrier..lol (hmm..i wonder if any of the traders in the UK. will discount it down?)
