Masking off......and no matter how hard I try, not matter how scrupulous and dilligent I am in my application of masking tape, why are there always spots where that insidious paint sneaks through onto the base coat?  <_<

I get the same problem, suspect it may be the fact that I use brushes rather than an airbrush. With an airbrush the small droplets are probably almost dry by the time they hit so they don't get the chance to seep under.

She's looking good though, don't give up!

With the Concorde program proceeding happily along, the British Government then put pressure on the French to buy a number of TSR-2s so as to help amortize out the costs of the Olympus engine..and since the two countries were beginning to form an European alliance independant of the US...a capable strike aircraft in the F-111 class (or better) was needed as a competitor to General Dynamics effort. The French countered by requesting co-production rights..eventually the Germans and Italians got into the act..and a early version of Panavia was born....selling TSR-2s worldwide..starting with the very angry Australians who had been royally taken in their atempt to but F-111's....*

EC 1/12 "Cambresis" took an Eagle to the 1977 Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Greenham Common wearing a special one-off Tiger Scheme.  Alas the tiger stripes were only worn for the weekend of the airshow and the aircraft was quickly back in more traditional camoflage.....

Here is the original camo scheme as worn by a Super Mystere B.2.  Decals for this aircraft are off an old Model Decal sheet.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

After much trial and error I've found Tamiya masking tape to be the best. I also 'polish' all the edges down with a filed round cocktail stick. This takes fr1gging hours but does prevent leakage. Also, if you're using rattle cans they deliver an insane amount of paint compared to an airbrush so you may have to increase the painting distance and mist on a few coats to get the desired effect. The Halford cans, while having good paint, have very high propellant pressures and it's all to easy to get too much paint that gets pooled against the edge of the tape and then leaks underneath. Ask me how I know this.

The Blu-tac sausage technique is good for foolproof feathered edges too. I've never had a seepage problem with it but you have to paint at a consistent 90 deg angle to the subject.

Your TSR.Deux looks awesome, anyway.

Bloody hell, how could I missed this one ? I was aware of it (from others thread) but I just seen the result... a Tigermeet TSR-2!  Very nice, really!!
The french were interested in the TSR-2 circa 1963 ?

Quite normal, the Eagle would have left the Mirage IV far behind, particularly at low level!
Nev, you give me ideas for this Mega Mirage  ^_^ (I have tons of yellow paint)
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.
