Going through stuff in the basement again, but that project ground to a halt when I found an old issue of Air International, October 1981, almost exactly 25 years ago.

Cover story on upgrading the F-16, a picture in the 'Airscene' section of the first 767 rollout, and an item that the Hawk was the leading contender in an Iraqui program for a new advanced trainer and light strike aircraft (wonder whatever became of that?).

Article on the Canadian Armed Forces, with pics of Voodoos   , an article on the Me 410, and another on the ER-2 derivative of the U-2.

Ah, the modeling column, by the inimitable Fred J. Henderson. Opening monologue is about large scale models, and has the line "One of the very last issues to come from Airfix before that company's regrettable demise was a 1/24th scale Fw 190A - a superb kit but one..."

WHOA! Back up a bit. Airfix's demise? Waddup widdat?! Who released the TSR.2 recently?

Methinks rumours of their death were greatly exaggerated! Then, as now.

We hope...

Yeah, I remember it too, it was like losing an old friend.

Then, reincarnation!
