OK, I'm drawing a complete blank on this [hangs head in shame]. Anybody got any info? Early to mid 1960s timeframe....

Just gone throu stuck on the drawing board. and there is a small note on an EE VTOL project called the P24 dated April 1958, but thats it, no 3 views or any other info.
I always hope for the best.

That's an April Fool joke, right?  Surely not even an British engineer could come up with something that over-engineered and expect it to be taken semi-seriously, right? :)

:-) Hey, I kind of like it! Thinking of a slightly bigger version with a B737 fuselage mated to a Victor tail, with eight or so CFM56s...

That many engines and the ability to take off and land on the same runway as all of the fuel would be expended in getting it off the ground just long enough to land at the other end of the runway to promplty deliver the a pallet of twiglets and pork pies that were specially packaged for air transport.
