Ga-gggaaaaa--ahhhh ga-ga

Sorry, first time I've seen what you did to the Ferret!!  You're on your own about the carrier bird though (mind's drawing a complete blank since seeing the piggy-backed craft).

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Ferret looks cool in test colors! I would think either a twin tail or maybe verticle stabilizers on the wing tips for the test bed.

Lucky me!! I've got a Ferret on the workbench right now, just ready for paint, and your paint scheme is really inspiring!!

Runway ? ...

Okely Dokely (second go at this, system crashes and stuff) I'd put the vertical surfaces as far away from the launch vehicle as possible (wingtip maybe) as if the parasite leaves asymmetrically it's going to ruin your day. I wanted to suggest putting them underneath but you'd proably struggle to get your Vulcan up or down  :(  . How far developed are flight control computers in your reality ? Could you go fully flying wing with this one and not hurt your pilots ?  Just my 2p  :)

Mossie

Runways wingtip suggestion is a good one, the early Vulcan designs had the vertical surfaces in this position.

Twin boom, Tophe will be happy!  Attatch two short booms just outboard of the engines with the vertical surfaces on these.

Twin tails in the same position as above, but on the wing instead of booms.  You could cant them to the same angle as the Ferret, it'd give a nice look.

Belly mount the Ferret instead.  That way you'll only need to make minimal changes to the Vulcan.  You'll probably have enough clearance with the Ferret place well inside the weapons bay, although you may have to make some changes to it's tail instead!  With the Vulcans good rate of climb, you could point the Ferret stright at the stars!

Funnily enough I had problems writing this too Runway, it just kicked me back to the last page I was on & I've had to write all this again!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

time frame is early 1980 so flight control computers are around (just)

also fancied a fixed landing gear simmler to the aircraft below

I would go with a wing arrangement ala the Arado 555.  This may involve some cutting and chopping but it would certainly do the job.

I like the concept it rocks!!!!!
Get this Cheese to sick bay!

Perfect concept!!!! Here we have an opportunity to create a whiff Extraordinaire!!!

Put wathever you can come up with, and please have fun while doing it.

My version woul be exactly like you depict it. but with a huge front to back cropped fin crowned with a launch rail ("H, "T" or "U" shaped) and the corresponding device for the belly of the ferret to allow for launches and recoveries in mid-air, and perhaps a couple scratchbuilt boosters for the ferret.

Oh! and a couple vertical fins on the carrier's wing leading edges, nothing too big, as the main attractin on top that monster will be the ferret

Congrats, i never dreamed of a couple like that!!!

OK, I know I can't stop scratchbuilding. Someday, I will build something OOB....

Love it, Lenny! I think the idea of wingtip rudders is a winner, and the idea of adding those awesome spats to it is making me drool!

First, the idea of using the vulcan as mothership is fabulous - why not adding some Spectre rocket motors to boost it up to 70 000 ft before release - ?
(space plane  )

Is the German monstruous thing coming from your imagination ? That's rocks, and its very "march-1945-flying-madness-project"  like.

King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.
