If y'all have a look at the Workbench/WIP threads for both the Rafale and the Tiffie you will see the MFD's (Multi Function Display's) that dominate the instrument panels in both machines.

Mr. Howling Mouse asked how I did this; it really is very easy.

Step 1:
You should paint the surround of the screen either very dark grey or black, don't worry if some of the dark colour sneaks onto the screen itself.

Step 2:
If there's any switches surrounding the screen dry-brush them a lighter tone then as they emerge from the dark colour, you can paint them with whatever colour your references indicate.

Step 3:
Using a 0 or 1 fine sable brush - there's no substitute for good quality artists sable haired brushes, I use Pro Arte evry time and replace them every two or three years - paint the screen area a bright silver, I always use good old Humbrol H11. W H Y ???? The silver makes the 'tint' that you will apply in Step 5 'glow' - you have to trust me on this one - as if the screen is just about to 'boot-up', as I say y'all really have to trust me here. <_<

Step 4:
Leave it alone ! Walk away for a day or so and find something else to do !

Step 5:
Using you favourite brand of 'tint', I have advocated Tamiya 'Clears' for ever - carefully paint over the silver screen. For the Rafale I wanted a dark (wine bottle)green tone; so I applied two good coats of Tamiya Clear Green. For the Tiffie I wanted a dark amber, so I mixed Tamiya 'Smoke' (70%) with Clear Orange (30%).

And there you have it - told you it was easy !

Nope, not easy for me, coz how do you drybrush?
