Do hawks in their training configuration need to fly with the wing tip side-winder rails? because mine is just a trainer so I was wondering if I had to have them, or if I could leave them off.

GTX

I believe they don't need the rails - in fact most Hawks over the years haven't had them I believe.

No.  It can be flown with or without wingtip rails.

Anyway, it's a whif!  It can be flown without wings if like!   :D
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Or better yet - with winglets!

Just like the original Yak-130:

They don't have rails, but they do have fairings.
It's not an effing  jump jet.

Hey Lana, You don't need the rails at all. Personally, I'd recommend fence panels...soooooooo much nicer than plain old rails and you can paint the fence panels pretty colours to boot....

Thanks guys. Lancer, you've gotten Lana all confused!

I'm going to go with the cleaner "no rails" configuration as it looks so much better. Updates on this project soon in the proper area.

It's a well known fact that anything flies better after a few rails !
