The Wooksta!

I didn't hear about this until my LHS said he was getting them in for another customer, so I took a gamble and ordered two.  Then I did some looking aout on the interweb and found some shots of the sprues.

This was looking really tasty and I couldn't wait to get them home.

Where to start?  Nicely engraved panel lines, fuselage and wing shape looks good.  Tailfin - throw it away and copy the one from the AMT kit.  Cockpit has some nice detailing and three rather nice  crew figures.  U/c nacelles are rather good, although the panel lines for the big maingear doors are rather indistinct but at least they're big and chunky.  Canopy is a tad thick, but nowt I can't live with.

Assembly.  I've started mine, but haven't got very far.  More as and when, although it's getting a new radar nose, that's for sure.

No doubt the JMNs will say that the Hasegawa kit is better, but at three times the price of the Zvezda kit, they can stick it up their arses.

I couldnt agree more:

Classic Wooksta.

Thanks for the quick review mate, I've transitioned back to 1/72, which means that I'll have to get rid of all my WW2 stuff since they're all 1/48.  I build more for the fun of it anyway so this looks like a good candidate.

What's wrong with the tailfin, by the way?

Tom,

I think this image from the IPMS Deutschland site might answer the question.

Wooksta,
I have never bought a Zvezda kit before but this one I think I will get. Keep us posted how your kit builds up.
