BUMP!!!!

I red the first posts of this thread but I'm still asking if I can paint a whole YF-12 in blue or white. Don't know if some parts have to stay black...
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

The XB-70 was white so I don't see why not. I'm sure, had other colors been required, compatible paints would've been devoloped.

That's a cool idea... an all white F-12A...

   Or better yet, Israel?

Archibald

Main problem with the YF-12 was it weak rate of turn... I doubt it cant turn back within Israeli frontiers!
Iran is cool (we already have a thread on the ex- CIA A-12s

Sadly, my white paint has just gone   <_<

What do you think of a RAF Desert-pink F-12A (well, Starkiller F.3       )  with low-viz roundels, a  pinup and some MiG-25 kill markings ?

In every case, Starkiller sounds cool, and logical (a Starfighter follow on  ;) )

How about Starslayer? Not mine, name shamelessly copied from TBOverse.
Baldrick: I followed Mr Da Vinci's instructions to the letter.
Blackadder: Even though you can't actually read.
Baldrick: No, but I have done a lot of Airfix models in my time.

Theres an RAF SR-71 in that scheme at ARC. Look under gallery, jet planes, SR-71, or silly week.

The in-service version of the  B-70 would not have been white..it would have used a special IR signature reducing finishing system that would have given the aircraft a shimmery silver colour.

So painting an SR-71/F-12 in pearlescent silver would be a possiblity.

Something like a Raptor's PITA metallic finish?

I've wondered about a connection since the first pics of the 'metallic' F-22s and V-22s started showing up.

Seeing as optical IR systems have been a feature of Russian fighter designs for the past couple of decades, a passive IR reducing coating would make sense...it could also have an additional benefit of a 'Yehudi' affect with increased albedo making the aircraft harder to acquire visually. IR and visual 'stealth'.

And I always thought metallic B-70s in artist sketches were just "artistic license"!
