A friend posed me the question and all I can think of is that 1/200 scale Hasegawa kit and I think a 1/72 Testors kit that's an A-model gunship I think. Any scale, any offerings for an H-model Spectre?

Italeri do a big 1/48 AC-130 thats still in production as far I know.  Airfix did a 1/72 AC-130, it's oop but you should still be able to get one easily on e-bay or such.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

ECSI did the H model in 72nd as well. but it may be hard to find these days.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

JP,

If you are in search of an AC-130H, your best bet is to take the Esci/AMT AC-130H and bash it with the Italeri AC-130A.  The Italeri kit has the better features regarding details and surface scribing.  The end result is that you will have something much closer to an AC-130H by combining the two kits then you would by building the Esci/AMT kit out of the box.  The latest reissue of the Esci/AMT is the AC-130U which also includes all of the original AC-130H parts as well new parts sprues.

I scratched together an AC-130 E from an Airfix C-130 kit. I had to dig into the spares box and buy some tank parts to make it. Its to bad she didn't survive the year and a half I was gone to Italy. I still have most of the parts so I may someday rebuild her.

Minicraft is about to introduce a 1:144 gunship. No details on their site yet, though.

Thanks guys, this is a great help. Supposing I wanted to the upgunned AC-130U that has the 25mm and 40mm guns replaced by 30mm Bushmasters, any options there?

Shasper

Get a U-boat and some spare AH-64 chain guns.
