Well since it's Valentine's Day what would be more appropriate than an I Love P-40s Group Build? Here's the rules:

1. The GB runs from now until Aug 14th, completed builds may be posted anytime until the deadline.

2. Any P-40, any scale, any variant is eligible to be used as the basis for your project.

3. Scratchbuilding and kitbashing are encouraged.

4. Incomplete, in-progress projects started prior to Feb. 14th ARE eligible.

5. There is no Rule #5.

6. The top three finished models will be chosen by votes cast from forum members. The top three winners will receive prizes. The top prize will be an as yet un-named P-40 kit (of course). Voting will begin Aug 15th with the winners announced on Aug. 22nd.

7. Have fun!

Can we please put multiple entries in? :)

May i enter with a danish P-40? and a Luftwaffe P-40? and a finnish P-40?

Hitting the hobby shop today...a weird p-40 is just what the doctor ordered.

Okay, one quick question which, if answered in my favour, would save me $22:

Can you enter repainted, slightly modified builds? I.e., an Airfix P-40E completed as an RAAF example, but all marks then sanded off, wings clipped etc and painted to be a Kittiwake.

???

Yours in desperate anticipation,
Zac
(P-40 Freak...well, you would be too if you had ten of the delightful darlings!)

Brian da Basher

But of course you can, Zac! The rules state any "in-progess or partially completed" builds are eligible. I also think modifying any previously built P-40 should qualify as well.

I can't wait to see what you've done! These will be entries 67 & 68 from you, right? ;)

Zac, you are indeed the Anthony of the I Love P-40s! GB!

Yours in moderation,

where and how do i vote?

Brian da Basher

Voting will begin Wednesday, August 15th and winners will be announced a week later. You can vote by sending me a PM with your top three choices. I think deciding which builds are the top three will be tough given the quality of the submissions!

Bri, can I respectfully ask for an extension, say a week?  I ask because I may have been close to finishing today or tomorrow (if not quite, I'd have posted with decals on but without any extra finishing) but I had a minor painting disaster.  I got one of the coats on, but it just didn't seem take to the surface very well, seems like I got some grease on the model or something.  I've had to sand down the model to the base coat & give it a good a wash, I'll see how it goes.  It means it'll take a few more days at least before I'm finished, but I promise, I'll break my back to get it done!

Groveling over!!!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Moving the build to the Knackers Yard, but not closing it yet.

Again, great build, everyone!
