The back story......

"DARK PRINCE OF THE WORLD"

Primed for its final mission of the war, the specially modified Jugular Jaguar of Lord Lance "Lancer" de L'Ancelot awaits its pilot. De L'Ancelot is the unit leader of the RAF's Vampire force, which at this point consisted of three strike and reconnaisance squadrons. This Jugular Jaguar GR.7(V) is loaded for an armed recce mission. The colour scheme is the usual all black finish, with a local application of upper surface colours to reflect the appearance of a Romanian summer landscape. Lord "Lancer" de L'Ancelot requested this addition as his 666 "The Beasts" Squadron took part in the Third Carpathian Campaign of 2012.

Kit: Airfix 1/48th Jaguar GR.3 modified to represent a GR.7(V)
Paints: Halfords Black Primer, Games Workshop, Humbrol Acrylics.
Markings: kit decals
Inspiration: "Judas Is Rising", Judas Priest
Source: "The Vampires of the RAF", Anne Rice

Ok, the model was sprayed black overall, together with the fuel tanks.
Uppersurfaces painted in a shadow shade two colour scheme of Tan and Purple.
The demarcation lines on these are wiggly, and essentially it follows the plan-view upper surfaces.
Small spots of Pink, Magenta, Blood Red, Red Gore and Orange added in a random fashion.
Then the upper surfaces is smeared with a slight wash of a medium grey using Humbrol Acrylics.
Then, the whole airframe is drybrushed lightly in the same colour.
The undersurfaces had previously been drybrushed in Purple.
Silver "chipping" with a silver crayon.
Detail painting of aerials, lights, oily dribbles.

It'll be at Milton Keynes

When the RAF re-equipped it's Vampire Strike Force with the far superior "Bleedin' Viper", the Jugular Jaguars were passed to the Undead of the Romanian Air Force.

It is in full Romanian AF markings that the Jugular Jaguar now appears!!

The full history (and how it's represented in model form) will appear courtesy of the What If? SIG newsletter  ...with pictures
