Where's The Wooksta?

Hi everyone,

You might have noticed that The Wooksta!  Isn't on the boards any more.  Unfortunately we've had to remove him from the forums, as we had received yet another complaint about the language and tone of his posts.  He had received multiple warnings over quite some time, more so in the last three months, including temporary bans, and the only final option was to a permanent ban.  

Please understand that we try very hard to accomodate everyone on the forums, and we place an emphasis on making this site enjoyable for everyone.  When a member starts to believe he or she is untouchable and starts to adopt the manner of a schoolyard bully it makes life difficult for everyone - deleting a member is a very unpleasant process and we only do it as a last resort.

As the leader of the IPMS(UK) What if? SIG, I feel that I should point out that althou Lee has been banned from the forum. He is still a member of the SIG.

The SIG and the forum are independant of each other and beeing removed from one does not mean that the said person has been removed from the other.

The admins and mods have acted in what they belive is the best interests of the forum, The SIG is not involved in these decisions and will remain neutral.

I think it is a shame to ban Lee. Some people are very sensitive to his comments, strong though they sometimes are. He does tend to call and spade a spade and then some...
I may be wrong but I don't recall him personally insulting individuals, although he does have very strong views on what is a what-if as opposed to a total flight of fancy. Plus he does produce some great what-ifs. I hope they appear on Britmodeller.
I am also glad Martin has explained the difference between the SIG and the forum.
It is a pity he can't be allowed to post on the SIG only section of the forum. He might not want to do so anyway!

Van, lee made a rod for his own back. in this case not by personal insults but from what im told (as ive not seen the offending post) lee's prefered version of plain english. (read sometimes fowl mouthed).
someone on the forum felt it offencive and reported it, and as lee has been warned many times before about his tone of postings, it was felt that the admins had no other choice (final warnings had been given perviously)

The tread has been locked at my request, ill reply via the pm system to any one wishing to know why.
