Not one, but TWO kits of the mighty Mi-26 are on the horizon.  I've never heard of Southern Front, and I wonder if the forthcoming Zvezda kit will be a reboxing.

Here is a sprue shot of the SF model to whet your appetites.

Have to admit, that since seeing the Mil 26 that attended farnbrough 84, ive had a soft spot for the type. And when one of those South front kits appeared on e bay at quite a reasonable price i was VERY VERY tempted.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

A few blocks from where I live. The La Carlota soon to be ex-Airport smack in the middle of eastern Caracas. The run-down structures in the back used to be private hangars. Demolished because they were declared of public utility and belonged to bourgueoises.

didn't someone do a vacform of this helo once? iirc, someone brought the sheets
with it on to the hinckley show a few years back. i guess it could be made into a
truly stunning display piece.

Trev, Sanger did the vacform - they did a few other big Russian jobs as well IIRC.  If you go to page 2 or 3 of the thread I linked there are some photos of the sheets next to a Hercules fuselage.

King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.
