Nice one Glenn. One of the probs with mine is that the fuselage halves were warped, which when straightened caused a difference in length! Another was that one of the fuselage halves is deeper/fatter  than the other.....lots of filler, primer and filler used so far!

here it is

cheers

Rafael

Interesting, to say the least.

How did you overcome the warping/stretching problem? and the difference in thickness of the fuselage sides?

Looking good,
Rafa

OK, I know I can't stop scratchbuilding. Someday, I will build something OOB....

YOU - ME- EVERYONE.
WE MAY THINK DIFFERENTLY
BUT WE CAN LIVE TOGETHER

Fortunately my fuselage was not too warped, so held the edges together with thin strips of adhesive tape and brushed in liquid cement. Then sandpaper and loads of Milliput! (How did we ever manage without Milliput?)
Look forward to the finished result - have fun.

Nice work, Guys !

Van-looking forward to more. What's it gonna be ? RCAF ? RCN ?

;)

Glenn-Awesome ! That scheme would make anything look good........I especially like that shot from the rear, you can really see how sleek and sexy that bird is. Great stuff !

Keep pluggin' away at it, though.  Don't lose sight of the final outcome you've imagined all along.

One thing that got me when seeing a model of the P.1121 Doncaster (I've forgotten whose it was, sorry!) was it's size.  It's a similar to a Flanker, with a shorter wingspan.  It's okay to see dimensions on paper, but often you don't really appreciate an aircrafts true dimensions until you see it in person, or a model.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I thought it is very similar in size to an F-105 Simon,  a quick comparison I did when I got my model was against the F-105G I've got built and it seemed all in proportion to it, wings in the same location etc,

The length of 21.1m/69.1ft in BSP includes the pitot probe but that should also offset the Su-27's boom.  The F-105 is a big aircraft itself, about 19m so will be pretty close, I guess it's only a touch longer than other aircraft of the day, the F-4 & Su-22 were also around 19m.  The model was next to models like the Harrier & the F-104 which are on the shorter side.  Still big though.

Yowsa is that one cracking build Glenn! The shark's mouth and camo scheme is icing on the cake! Excellent!
