Great work on those girls B777LR, it's good to see someone make good with that Airfix kit. And I've heard some less-than-complimentary things about that Matchbox kit, good to see it built!

Does anyone else have any "Here's one we prepared earlier" Hawks they'd like to share?

Zac, that matchbox kit is the probably best WW2 fighter in 1/72 ive ever built! Only JMNs must think its crap (due to details, that is)  :wub:

Hehe typical! Good to hear, B777LR! Mind you, the P-40 *is* perfect anyway, so it'd be very hard to make a bad kit of her ;) .

How is the Academy kit? Is it one of the high quality kits with drop off decals, or one of the low quality kits with i cant even sand them off decals?

Better photos, coz weather was finally good enough!  :)  Table looks awefully lot like what our resident kiwi used as runway some time ago :lol:

:lol:  Nice stuff, B777LR! As promised, some images (although not the best) of the first Kittiwake model, painted as FB Mk.1 WA040. The base kit was the venerable Airfix P-40E in 1:72. Extremely weathered, I think the idea was she was a gate guard. I may end up repainting her to properly represent a surviving Kittiwake.







The four-bladed prop idea has been dropped as I just can't get my hands on enough Airfix P-51D/K blades to do all eleven Kittiwakes. *sigh*. Ah well!

Cool! If repainting her, how about sanding it all smooth and doing her like a reno racer in P-40E desert markings? That would be awesome!

Yowsa Zac that's quite a P-40 fleet you've got there! They've all come great! If these 10 P-40s don't inspire folks, nothing will!
