Hi Hobbes, I thought about cutting it almost to the fan blades like on the Do31 but then I'd need to source some larger fans as the kit ones are shrouded by the inlet trunking.

Been busy for a while but I finally got round to chopping the roof off the E2, also drilled out the four forward jet nozzles and only damaged one! Should be able to fix it easily enough. I'm going to add around 3mm in height along the cut and will bulge the top of the rear fuselage with some Miliput and am hoping the bit between the cockpit glazing and the wing leading edge will look Dornier 328-ish.

Still haven't decided on a colour scheme, probably be dictated by a rumage through whatever's in the decals box.

I don't know if this will help (or if you have the same intent) but here is how I built up the area aft of the cockpit bulge on my SAR-1 Able-Eye Hawkeye conversion (1:72).

That's looking good John! I hadn't it before There's a lot of stuff on here that I haven't found yet, whiffers are extremely prolific! That is a good way to fill the gap but my one will have quite a slope on it as the wing is raised up so I might just glop on a load of Miliput, that will help keep the nose wheel down too (hopefully!).
