Here is an old RCM magazine cover, with Sue Parrish's P-40 she flies up in Michigan...came across this in an old box of FSM's and playboys, had to post it up.

Radish

And don't it look lovely
Thanks.
Once you've visited the land of the Loonies, a return is never far away.....

   Pink Lady originale, so very cool! The inspiration for the Lana-Zac co-production "Femme Dans le Rose".

I've asked anthonyp to get some pics of this lovely lady next time he's in Kalamazoo - the Air Zoo has her suspended above the reception area. So sad. But at least she's preserved.

WOO! P-40S ROCK!!!

PS - That foxy lady in front of the other foxy Lady isn't Sue, surely? If so, damn! I've noticed so many attractive ladies in this movement! -ZY

Suzanne Parish is, um, a little older.  Here's some more info (fascinating aviation pioneer):

She WAS in fact, quite the looker back in 1944, but I doubt that would have mattered much to a person who likely saw herself first as a pilot:

She's donated a lot to the Michigan air scene, too:

Here's a whole page dedicated to WASPs.  When I was a teenager, I discovered that a lady on my paper route had filled a similar role for the Canadian Air Force during World War II.  I spent hours at her place, hearing about her exploits in Spitfires and Mustangs: fascinating stuff!

And here's more P-40 pics for you, Zac (hopefully some are new!)

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

If you look really carefully there's a P-40 in the picture   :P
