Prototype paint

What exactly sort of white was used on the three prototypes?  It seems to have a chalky, whitewashy sort of look, like a temporary winter camoflage.  Also, it seems to have deteriorated rapidly.  I saw photos of 219 in flight, and the airplane looks like something setting outside for several years.

Hm, oddly my browser doesn't actually show that, only when I've hit the 'reply' button and if I read the small print at the top of the potential post.

'222 was very grubby white when it was at Cranfield, but now it's very BRIGHT white as they did an overall re-paint at Duxford. I'm not sure if it would qualify as 'airliner white' but it's close.

(i will dig out the spec later) acrylic gloss white which dulled very quickly to a semi gloss finish. The Cosford airframe XR220 WAS still in its original finish (before the RAF Museum conervation lot decided to 'clean' then spritz 'laquer' it !) The Duxford hybrid XR222 whilst at Cranfield was in its original acrylic white, but has seen two complete repaints since its time at Duxford (both in a very bright white finish !)
