What-If they tried a Sea-Tempest in advance of the Seafury..? For both torpedo bombing and naval fighter purposes.

Just got to sort out the wing-fold hinges, hook and torpedo mount.

I recall a Sea Typhoon project i think it was that added another section to the wing for some reason or other....  I'll see if i can dig out the pic.

Cheers! That's very useful. I was wondering whether to do an up-and-over wing fold or 'along the fuselage'. I think the back-fold is the best way to go...

I was thinking along similar lines with a Tempest MkII to go in the timeline with my P-51N "Seastang" and A4U/M-1 "Kaizoku/Greg" (Japanese Corsair)

I can't wait to see more of your "Seapest" BlueSteel It looks Great so far

I believe that the Tempest was tested by the Navy, but I can't remember what the airfield was called where it was tested.  It had a full size deck replica as part of the runway.  It led directly to the Sea Fury development.

Great idea, bluesteel.  Looking forward to more progress shots!

Will die without understanding this world.

QuoteThat could look much better with the leading edge radiators and the smooth cowling from the Tempest I - that radiator could cause problems with the torpedo carriage.

I've got the bits for a two seat torpedo fighter version of the Sea Fury - mainly just fitting the wing from a Matchbox Tempest onto a PM (shudders) Sea Fury T20.  Needs very little surgery.
I'm very fond of the Tempest I, but it seems that pics are scarce on the web...
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.
